Walnut Key Lime Pie Smoothie
Treat yourself to a taste of the tropics with this filling breakfast smoothie. Featuring heart-healthy walnuts, chock-full of omega-3’s and fibre-rich avocado, this breakfast replacement will give you the fuel you need to kick-start your day.
1/2 | ripe avocado from Mexico | 1/2 |
1/2 | small banana | 1/2 |
3/4 cup | cold water | 175 mL |
1/3 cup | california walnuts (crumbs or halves) | 75 mL |
1/3 cup | coconut milk (reduced fat) | 75 mL |
2 tbsp | honey | 30 mL |
juice from 1 lime |
In a blender or using a hand blender, combine all ingredients and process until smooth. About 1 minute.
Makes 1 serving.
Tip: Substitute coconut milk and water with soy or rice milk. Try adding protein powder for a complete meal.
